Heavy rain fell across multiple parts of Lahore on Saturday, with Wasa reporting the highest rainfall in Nishtar Town. Rescue 1122 said two people were injured in Wapda Town after a wall collapsed onto a rickshaw.

Heavy rain lashes parts of Lahore, Nishtar Town records highest rainfall

LAHORE: Heavy rain hit several parts of Lahore on Saturday, with Nishtar Town receiving the highest rainfall, according to data released by the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa).

Wasa said rainfall was recorded at 48.5mm in Nishtar Town, 40mm in the airport area, 37.5mm in Johar Town, 30.5mm each in Lakshmi Chowk and Mughalpura, 29mm on Upper Mall, 27mm in Tajpura, 25mm at Chowk Nakhuda, 22.5mm in Samanabad, 22mm in Pani Wala Talab, 20.5mm on Jail Road, 20mm at Gulberg Head Office and in Iqbal Town, 19mm in Farrukhabad, 18.5mm in Saggian, 17mm in Gulshan-i-Ravi, 15mm on Defence Road and 0.5mm in Shadipura.

Separately, Rescue 1122 said at least two people were injured when a wall collapsed onto a rickshaw in Wapda Town. It said one of the injured was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for further treatment.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s forecast, rain, windstorm and thunderstorm were likely at isolated places in Azad Kashmir, northeast and east Punjab, and the Potohar region.
