Cambridge releases new update on A-Level Mathematics 9709/32 re-sit
Re-sit for Paper 32 scheduled for June 8 as Cambridge extends withdrawal deadline and carry forward rule for affected candidates

Cambridge has announced that the re-sit for Cambridge International A-Level Mathematics Paper 32 (9709/32) will take place on Monday, June 8, 2026, as part of the June 2026 examination series timetable.
In a latest communication shared with schools, Cambridge said the British Council would provide updated venue letters for the replacement examination by Tuesday, June 2.
The examination body also extended the withdrawal deadline for candidates registered for 9709/32 until June 17, with affected students eligible for a full refund. Cambridge clarified that any refund would not include additional charges paid for late or very late entries.
According to the update, candidates withdrawing from the June 2026 session would be considered withdrawn from the full syllabus entry and not only from component 32. Students wishing to appear again in November 2026 for the same syllabus and component combination would have to register again.
Cambridge further announced an extension in the 13-month carry forward rule for candidates unable to sit the replacement paper on June 8. Under the revised arrangement, students completing their Cambridge International A-Level in June 2026 but withdrawing due to inability to appear in the re-sit would be allowed to carry forward marks from the June 2025 series to the November 2026 session.
To qualify for the extension, candidates must have been registered in the June 2026 exam series, withdrawn because they were unable to sit the replacement Paper 32 on June 8, and re-enter for the same option code in November 2026.
Cambridge also stated that students deferring their examinations to November 2026 would continue to pay fees equivalent to the June 2026 series. Any difference between June and November examination fees would be refunded.
The latest development comes after Cambridge earlier announced replacement examinations for affected Mathematics papers in Pakistan following issues linked to the original exams.
