Road rage horror: Karachi couple smash family car, terrify special-needs child

KARACHI:A horrifying road rage incident in Karachi has sparked outrage online after a viral video showed a furious couple allegedly terrorising a family travelling with a special-needs child during a traffic dispute in PECHS Block 6.

The now-viral footage looks straight out of a nightmare.

According to reports, the chaos erupted after a disagreement over giving way in heavy traffic. The affected citizen, Waseem Cheema, said he was driving with his wife and differently-abled child when occupants of a larger vehicle demanded that he reverse his car — despite there being no space to move back.

What happened next quickly spiralled into pure chaos.

The video allegedly shows an enraged man storming toward the vehicle, kicking and punching the family’s car repeatedly while passengers remained locked inside in fear. A woman accompanying him can also reportedly be seen involved during the confrontation as stunned bystanders recorded the scene.

The family claims the suspects began threatening them after Waseem refused to move the car. At one point, the situation became so aggressive that the family reportedly locked themselves inside the vehicle while the suspect continued attacking it in public view.

Social media users have been left horrified by the footage, especially after learning that a special-needs child was inside the car throughout the violent outburst.

Many called the incident “inhuman” and “terrifying,” while others slammed Karachi’s worsening road rage culture, where minor traffic arguments increasingly appear to escalate into public meltdowns.

Waseem Cheema later filed a formal complaint at Ferozabad Police Station, alleging that the attackers damaged his vehicle and harassed his family. He also claimed the main suspect appeared to be under the influence of drugs, though police have not confirmed that allegation.

Karachi Police confirmed that the viral video is being examined as evidence and said arrests will follow after the investigation is completed.

For many online, however, the clip has already become another disturbing example of how everyday traffic disputes in Karachi are turning into scenes of public terror.
