'Performance 0, attitude 100': Fans turn on Kohli after awkward Travis Head snub

Virat Kohli has found himself at the centre of fresh controversy after a tense post-match moment involving Travis Head went viral following the IPL 2026 clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

The drama unfolded during the customary handshake line after the match in Hyderabad. Video clips circulating online appear to show Kohli shaking hands with SRH captain Pat Cummins and Abhishek Sharma before walking straight past Travis Head, who seemingly had his hand extended waiting for the gesture.

The visibly awkward moment instantly exploded across social media, with fans debating whether the move was intentional or simply part of the heat of competition.

Tension between Kohli and Head had already been noticeable earlier during RCB’s chase, where cameras caught the two exchanging words on the field. While the exact trigger for the exchange remains unclear, the atmosphere between them appeared far from friendly.

The internet, however, wasted no time choosing sides.

Many users criticised Kohli’s behaviour, questioning the sportsmanship of one of cricket’s biggest stars. Comments ranged from disappointment to outright trolling, with one user writing, “Performance 0, attitude 100,” while another sarcastically asked, “Sportsmanship??”

Others mocked the moment as unnecessary aggression, especially considering Kohli’s underwhelming performance with the bat. The RCB star managed just 15 runs off 11 balls before being dismissed during the powerplay.

Meanwhile, SRH piled up a massive 255 for 4, while RCB finished on 200 for 4 despite still securing a top-two finish on the points table.

The viral handshake clip has now become one of the biggest talking points of the match, once again putting Kohli’s on-field intensity — and temperament — under the spotlight.
