Slot says he and Salah share Liverpool ambition ahead of Brentford finale
Arne Slot says he and Mohamed Salah both want the best for Liverpool as the forward prepares for his final Anfield appearance. Liverpool need a point against Brentford to secure a top-five finish and Champions League qualification.

LONDON: Liverpool manager Arne Slot said on Friday that he and Mohamed Salah remain aligned in wanting what is best for the club, after the forward’s recent social media comments were widely seen as criticism of the Dutch coach.
Salah’s nine-year stay at Anfield is due to end after Sunday’s match against Brentford. Liverpool still require one point from the game to secure a top-five finish and qualify for next season’s Champions League following last week’s 4-2 loss to Aston Villa.
The day after that defeat, Salah wrote on social media that Liverpool should return to the heavy metal football that brought success under former manager Jurgen Klopp. The comments came during a difficult campaign for the club, with supporters increasingly unhappy, although Slot looks set to stay in charge for the final year of his contract.
Speaking ahead of the final game of the season, Slot said he and Salah were pursuing the same objective.
