Islamabad deploys special traffic arrangements for Eid cattle markets

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Traffic Police has finalised a special traffic management plan for cattle markets across the federal capital ahead of Eid ul Adha.

Chief Traffic Officer Muhammad Sarfraz Virk said more than 350 officers and personnel would be deployed under the special plan to maintain traffic flow and assist commuters.

He said additional traffic staff had been assigned at and around cattle markets to manage congestion and guide motorists during the busy Eid shopping period.

The CTO urged citizens to avoid parking vehicles along roadsides near cattle markets and instead use designated parking areas to prevent blockages and traffic disruptions.

He added that traffic police personnel would remain on duty around the clock during Eid days to facilitate the public and maintain traffic discipline across the city.

Authorities also appealed to residents to cooperate with officials and follow the traffic plan to help ensure smooth movement in the capital.

Pakistan will observe Eid ul Adha on May 27 after the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee confirmed the sighting of the Zilhaj moon earlier this month.

The federal government has also announced public holidays from May 26 to May 28 for Eid ul Adha.
