Man kills mother, brother and wife in Hub

KHUZDAR: A man allegedly shot dead his mother, younger brother and wife and wounded his daughter in Hub after a domestic dispute, police said on Saturday.

Police said the incident took place inside a house in the Adalat Road area of Deno Colony in the industrial city of Hub. The suspect was identified as Saqib Ali.

Police said the accused opened indiscriminate fire in the house after becoming enraged during a domestic dispute, leaving three members of his family dead and his daughter injured. "In the firing, the mother, younger brother and accused’s wife were killed on the spot after receiving multiple bullet injuries," Berot police station SHO Attaullah Jamoot told Dawn.

He said police reached the scene after the shooting and moved the bodies and the injured girl to Jam Ghulam Qadir Hospital.

Arrest and investigation

Police said Saqib Ali had been arrested following the incident. They added that further investigation was underway.

The victims were identified by their relationship to the accused as his mother, younger brother and wife. Police said the daughter sustained injuries in the firing.

The shooting was described by police as stemming from a domestic dispute.

The incident occurred in Hub, an industrial city in Balochistan, with police officials saying the firing took place inside the family’s residence in Deno Colony’s Adalat Road area.

Authorities shifted the deceased and the injured child to hospital soon after police arrived at the site, according to SHO Attaullah Jamoot. Police said the suspect was taken into custody and the case was being investigated further.
