Sindh announces summer vacations for schools from June 1 to July 31
The Sindh government has announced summer vacations for all public and private schools from June 1 to July 31. The decision was issued through a notification by the provincial education department.

KARACHI: The Sindh government on Wednesday announced that summer vacations for schools across the province will begin on June 1 and continue until July 31.
According to a notification issued by the Sindh education department, the break will apply to all public and private educational institutions working under the administrative control of the School Education and Literacy Department for the academic session 2026-27.
The announcement formalises the schedule for the annual summer break in Sindh’s schools through an official notification from the provincial education department.
Punjab had also announced school holidays
Earlier this week, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced a three-month summer vacation for schools in Punjab.
Last month, schools in Punjab had been advised to either revise their working hours or declare early summer holidays because of excessive heat affecting parts of the country over the past several weeks.
The Punjab Disaster Management Authority had also issued urgent instructions to educational institutions and district administrations across the province in view of a heatwave.
The Sindh government’s decision comes as high temperatures have affected different parts of the country, prompting education authorities in provinces to adjust school schedules.
The notification issued in Sindh specifically states that the vacations will be observed from June 1, 2026, to July 31, 2026. It also makes clear that the order covers both public and private institutions under the School Education and Literacy Department.
With the latest announcement, schools in Sindh will remain closed for two months during the summer period under the schedule notified by the provincial government.
