President Zardari confers Tamgha-i-Imtiaz on PACCC president Naveed Anwar Chaudhry
President Asif Ali Zardari has conferred the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz on PACCC President Naveed Anwar Chaudhry for services related to export promotion, Pakistan-US business ties and community work. The award was presented at a ceremony held at the Presidency in Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday awarded the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz to Pakistan American Chicago Land Chamber of Commerce President Naveed Anwar Chaudhry in recognition of his role in promoting Pakistani exports.
The civil award was presented at a special investiture ceremony held at the Presidency in Islamabad. The honour was conferred on the recommendation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during an event in which a number of individuals received civil awards for services in health, education, literature, journalism, public service, research, diplomatic affairs, sports and the economy.
The ceremony was attended by First Lady Aseefa Bhutto, federal ministers, the chairman of the Senate, parliamentarians, members of civil society, diplomats, media representatives and a large number of guests.
Recognition for trade and community services
Chaudhry received the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz for his services in strengthening business ties between Pakistan and the United States, his efforts to help increase Pakistani exports to the US, and his community work.
He recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry aimed at promoting trade, investment and business cooperation between Pakistan and the United States.
The Tamgha-i-Imtiaz is among Pakistan’s highest civilian honours and is awarded to individuals for distinguished services in different fields.
Ceremony at the Presidency
The award was part of a broader ceremony at the Presidency where personalities from multiple sectors were decorated for their contributions. The event recognised services across a wide range of areas, including health, education, literature, journalism, public service, research, diplomatic affairs, sports and the economy.
Chaudhry’s recognition was specifically linked to export promotion and efforts to expand commercial engagement between Pakistan and the United States. The report also highlighted his role in encouraging business cooperation through institutional links, including the recently signed understanding with the Rawalpindi chamber.
The Tamgha-i-Imtiaz is one of Pakistan’s highest civilian awards and is conferred upon individuals for distinguished services in different fields.
The award to Chaudhry adds to the list of civil honours announced at the ceremony, which brought together senior political figures, lawmakers, diplomats, civil society members and media representatives at the Presidency in Islamabad.
