MULTAN: Three women were killed in separate incidents, including one case in Burewala in which a 28-year-old woman was allegedly shot dead by her husband in what investigators said was linked to so-called honour.

Investigators said Sanam Kausar was allegedly killed by her husband, Asghar Ali, in Burewala. Investigators said the suspect told them he had been suspicious of his wife, and that the matter had repeatedly led to disputes at home.

In another incident, 65-year-old Azra Nasreen was found dead inside her house. Unidentified individuals allegedly attacked her during the night and struck her on the head with a sharp object.

Death under mysterious circumstances

In a separate case, 32-year-old Rukhsana Bibi died in circumstances described as mysterious. She had entered into a marriage of her own choice.

Her family alleged that her husband had poisoned her.

The three incidents were reported as separate cases involving women who died in different circumstances, with allegations ranging from an 'honour'-related killing to a fatal assault and suspected poisoning.

The victims were identified as Sanam Kausar, Azra Nasreen and Rukhsana Bibi, and gave their ages as 28, 65 and 32, respectively. It also named Asghar Ali as the husband accused in the Burewala shooting, while those allegedly involved in Azra Nasreen’s death were described as unidentified persons. In Rukhsana Bibi’s case, the allegation of poisoning was made by her family.
