Umer Mukhtar and Mahnoor Rahim settle dispute

ISLAMABAD: The public dispute involving television producer Umer Mukhtar and Mahnoor Rahim has been resolved after both sides reached an agreement through legal channels, according to a joint statement shared on Instagram.

The statement said the two parties had ‘agreed to amicably resolve the matter’, bringing to a close a controversy that had drawn attention on social media in recent months.

According to the joint statement, ‘As part of the resolution, Ms Mahnoor Rahim has, in good faith and without admission of liability, agreed that the said statements and posts shall no longer subsist in the public domain’.

It further stated, ‘Mr Umer Mukhtar pursuant thereto has in good faith and without prejudice to his rights to withdraw all legal proceedings so initiated’.

Dispute began with social media posts

The matter first emerged in February, when Rahim uploaded a video on Instagram describing her interaction with a television producer. While she did not initially identify the individual by name, Mukhtar was later named in a subsequent post, which led to widespread discussion online.

The controversy intensified after Rahim accused Mukhtar of inappropriate conduct, including allegations that he had exploited underage girls. The dispute later moved into the legal arena when Mukhtar’s legal team filed a defamation case.

The latest statement indicates that both sides have now chosen to settle the issue and end the legal proceedings linked to the matter.

Hania Aamir also addressed the issue

Actor Hania Aamir was also mentioned in Rahim’s initial video because of her close association with the person being accused, prompting broader debate on accountability within social circles.

Aamir later responded through Instagram stories, where she reiterated her zero-tolerance position on harassment. She also said she had distanced herself from the individual concerned.

With the joint statement now made public, the dispute appears to have concluded through a mutually agreed legal settlement. The development follows months of public discussion after the allegations first surfaced online and were followed by legal action.
