Muslim Abbas exposes Tamasha, reveals reality show is actually edited manipulation
Muslim Abbas, a former Tamasha finalist, says post-production editing can reshape context and portray contestants in fixed roles. He explains how editing influences how viewers perceive “heroes,” “villains,” and more.

Former Tamasha finalist Muslim Abbas has spoken about the gap between what contestants experience inside the house and how those moments are ultimately presented to viewers.
Broadcast on ARY Digital and hosted by Adnan Siddiqui, the show follows a format similar to Bigg Boss. Its fourth season ran from August 9 to October 11, 2025, ending with Saif Ali Khan winning the title.
Abbas, who entered through the show’s first-ever public auditions and made it to the finale, said that much of what audiences see is shaped in post-production. He pointed out that editing choices can remove context and rearrange events in ways that influence how contestants are perceived.
“When I came out, I realised the show had been edited in a certain way,” he said. “In production, they choose roles, a hero, a villain, a ‘phuppo’, a mother figure, a father figure. They pick these kinds of characters and then edit accordingly to make someone look a certain way. If someone is shown as a villain in the beginning, they continue to portray them like that throughout the episode.”
He added that the storytelling approach mirrors scripted entertainment, where individuals tend to be presented in fixed roles rather than shifting naturally over time.
Muslim Abbas is saying what a lot of viewers have suspected for years… reality TV might not be that “real” after all. So that “toxic contestant arc” you’ve been watching? It might not be the full picture.
Translation? If the edit decides you’re the villain… good luck changing that narrative.
And honestly, this explains a lot about how contestants suddenly become fan favourites… or public enemies.
So yeah — next time you’re judging someone on reality TV, just remember:
you might be watching a storyline, not a person.
