Seraiki poet Shakir Shujaabadi hospitalised
Renowned Seraiki poet Shakir Shujaabadi has been admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Lodhran after falling ill. Doctors say his condition is gradually improving and he is receiving full medical care.

LODHRAN: Renowned Seraiki poet Shakir Shujaabadi has been admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Lodhran after his health deteriorated, and he is currently receiving treatment there.
His son, Naveed Shakir, said the poet had been shifted to the hospital a day earlier after suffering from pneumonia, fever, cough and general weakness.
Hospital officials said Shakir Shujaabadi was being given complete medical care along with the best treatment facilities available at the hospital.
The duty medical officer said the poet was facing a chest infection as well as urinary complications. According to the doctor, antibiotics and other medicines had been prescribed as part of his treatment.
Doctors attending to him said his condition was gradually improving and voiced hope that he would continue to recover steadily.
Naveed Shakir also appealed to the public to pray for his father’s early recovery.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ashraf said Shakir Shujaabadi’s condition had improved and that he was being provided special medical attention. He added that no effort would be spared to ensure proper treatment for the poet.
Medical care under way
Officials at the hospital said the veteran poet remained under treatment at the District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors were monitoring his condition. The medical team said medicines, including antibiotics, had been prescribed in view of the chest infection and urinary issues identified during his examination.
According to the information shared by hospital authorities and district administration officials, the poet’s health has shown signs of improvement since his admission. Doctors said they were optimistic about a stable recovery as treatment continued.
Family seeks prayers
Naveed Shakir said his father had been moved to hospital after experiencing multiple health problems, including pneumonia, fever, cough and weakness. He urged members of the public to remember the poet in their prayers and wish him a speedy recovery.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ashraf reiterated that Shakir Shujaabadi was in better condition and said the administration was ensuring that he received special attention during treatment.
