KP govt invites public proposals for next ADP
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced that citizens will be able to submit proposals for the ADP 2026-27 through an online portal from May 4 to May 8. Officials say viable recommendations will be incorporated into the development programme.

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to seek direct public input for the province’s Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the 2026-27 fiscal year, saying the move is aimed at making development planning more transparent and participatory.
Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan announced on Wednesday that work on the ADP had entered its final phase. He said the process was being carried forward in line with the vision of PTI founder chairman Imran Khan and under the directions of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.
According to Shafi Jan, the provincial government wants citizens to play a direct role in identifying development priorities for the coming fiscal year. "To make the development planning process more transparent, inclusive, and people-centric, the provincial government has decided to directly involve the public," he said.
For this purpose, the government will circulate a dedicated online link through the social media platforms of all deputy commissioners across the province. Through this portal, residents will be able to send their suggestions, feedback and concerns directly to the government.
Officials said the online portal will remain open from May 4 to May 8. During this five-day period, members of the public will be able to share proposals related to development priorities in different sectors.
Public proposals to be reviewed
Officials further said that workable proposals and recommendations received during the consultation window would be included in the ADP 2026-27. They said this was intended to ensure that development schemes reflect the actual needs and priorities of the public.
Shafi Jan said the initiative demonstrated the government’s commitment to participatory governance and highlighted the importance of public input in policymaking. He added that involving citizens in the planning process would help improve the quality of governance.
He also said the provincial government remained committed to transparency, accountability and public welfare, describing these as central elements of its policy framework.
The announcement marks a formal effort by the provincial administration to bring citizens into the development planning process at a stage when the next ADP is being finalised. By opening a limited online consultation window and routing participation through deputy commissioners’ social media platforms, the government says it intends to gather public recommendations before the programme for 2026-27 is completed.
The ADP is the province’s key development planning document for the fiscal year, and the government’s latest step is being presented as part of a broader push to make the process more inclusive and aligned with public needs.
