Elite school farewell rally turns into traffic nightmare in DHA, sparks backlash
A luxury car convoy during a school farewell rally in DHA Phase XII, Lahore, blocked major roads and drew backlash online. Videos show stunt driving and hazardous traffic disruption, with calls for accountability.

LAHORE: Students from Roots International Schools, particularly linked to the Sevenoaks Campus in DHA Phase XII, Lahore, are facing intense backlash after a luxury car convoy during a farewell rally disrupted major roads and sparked widespread criticism online.
The rally, described as a “farewell car rally” or “pride/peace drive,” featured a long line of high-end vehicles moving through upscale areas including Defence Housing Authority and Canal Road. Videos circulating on social media show cars performing reckless stunts, blocking traffic, and creating hazardous conditions for other commuters.
The incident quickly drew criticism, with many calling out what they described as irresponsible behaviour and a display of unchecked privilege. Concerns were raised over public safety, with users pointing to the risks posed by stunt driving on busy city roads.
Others questioned the lack of accountability, noting that such large-scale disruption took place without apparent intervention. The silence from authorities has also been a point of contention, as calls grow for stricter action against reckless public behaviour, regardless of background.
The controversy comes at a time when farewell season events are taking place across schools, but this particular rally has stood out for the scale of disruption and the strong reaction it has triggered online.
