LAHORE: Punjab MPA Hina Parvez Butt has strongly criticised YouTuber Rajab Butt after a viral video showed him filming inside a restaurant, drawing backlash over privacy concerns.
The clip, widely shared across social media, shows Rajab recording his meal while a family seated behind him appears visibly uncomfortable. A woman can be seen trying to hide her face and turn away from the camera, prompting many online to label the act as intrusive and disrespectful.
Reacting to the video, Hina Parvez Butt issued a blunt statement, saying, “Extremely shameful behaviour. These people have neither shame nor sense. Wherever they feel like it, they take out a camera and start filming, with no consideration that there may be a family sitting nearby.”
The criticism adds to mounting controversies surrounding Rajab Butt. A sessions court in Karachi recently cancelled his interim pre-arrest bail in a case related to alleged religious offence after repeated non-appearance. He is also facing proceedings in a separate case in Lahore, along with a cybercrime inquiry linked to alleged promotion of online gambling platforms.
The incident has reignited debate over boundaries in content creation, particularly when it involves filming in public spaces without consent.
