Four killed, 200 livestock perish in lightning strikes in Dera Murad Jamali
At least four people were killed and 200 livestock perished in two lightning strike incidents in Nasirabad district during heavy rain and thunderstorm, officials said.

DERA MURAD JAMALI: At least four people lost their lives and 200 livestock died after lightning struck two separate locations in Nasirabad district during heavy rain and a thunderstorm on Tuesday, officials said.
According to officials, the first incident took place in a village in the Babakot area of Nasirabad district, where three people were killed as severe weather swept through the area.
They said lightning struck the house of Mohib Ali in Palyani village during the storm, leaving three people dead and one injured. Officials said two of those killed were miners.
In a separate incident, officials said lightning hit the Manjoshori area, where one man was killed and another person was injured.
Officials added that more than 200 heads of cattle perished when lightning struck a house in the Balakot area of Nasirabad.
‘Their makeshift house also caught fire, perishing 200 livestock,’ the officials said.
The casualties and livestock losses were reported as heavy rain and thunderstorm affected parts of the district on Tuesday.
Two separate incidents reported
Officials said the deaths occurred in two different places in Nasirabad district during the same spell of bad weather.
In Palyani village, the lightning strike on Mohib Ali’s house caused multiple casualties, killing three people and injuring another. In Manjoshori, another strike claimed one life and left one more person injured.
Officials also reported extensive livestock losses in the other incident, saying over 200 animals died after the lightning strike and subsequent fire.
The incidents underline the damage caused by the heavy rain and thunderstorm that lashed the area on Tuesday, according to the officials.
Dawn reported that the deaths and livestock losses occurred in Nasirabad district as lightning struck during the storm.
