Car, bike, cash gone: Deepak Perwani robbed thrice at gunpoint
Deepak Perwani says he has been robbed three times in three months in Karachi, losing a car, motorcycle and cash at gunpoint. He warns crime is rising and cites cases involving workers and extortion.

KARACHI: Deepak Perwani has spoken out about rising crime in Karachi after revealing that he has been robbed three times in the past three months.
In a post on X, the designer said he had lost a car, a motorcycle, and cash that was snatched from him at gunpoint. He added that the situation is not limited to his own experience, sharing that one of his workers had their home robbed twice in a single month, while another worker’s son was beaten over extortion demands.
“Crime is on the rise in Karachi, people are dying, inflation is through the roof,” he wrote, painting a broader picture of worsening conditions in the city.
His post triggered a wave of reactions online, with many users echoing concerns about safety and law enforcement. Some described the situation as increasingly dangerous, while others urged more public figures to speak up and demand accountability.
Several responses also took a political turn, blaming long-standing governance issues for the deteriorating law and order situation in Karachi.
Perwani, a seven-time Lux Style Award winner and a Guinness World Record holder, has long been a prominent figure in Pakistan’s fashion industry. His comments have now added to growing public discourse around safety and security in the country’s largest city.
