Punjab colleges mark 75 years of Pak-China ties with province-wide celebrations

Educational institutions across Punjab marked 75 years of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations with coin and stamp design, quizzes, painting and poster exhibitions, engaging students and faculty province-wide.

Punjab colleges mark 75 years of Pak-China ties with province-wide celebrations

LAHORE: Acting on directives of the Higher Education Department Punjab, educational institutions across Punjab have launched a wide range of academic and co-curricular activities to commemorate 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

The province-wide initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, reflecting strong grassroots engagement in celebrating the longstanding bilateral friendship.

At Government Graduate College for Women Kot Radha Kishen, students participated in commemorative coin and stamp design competitions, where Sadaf Mustafa and Alina Akhtar secured top district positions.

Similarly, a quiz competition on Pakistan-China relations was organised at Government Graduate College for Women Shah Rukn-e-Alam, with BS Political Science and first-year students actively taking part under faculty supervision.

In Bhakkar, an inter-collegiate district-level competition was hosted by Government Graduate College for Women Bhakkar, bringing together participants from multiple institutions for coin and stamp design contests.

At Government Graduate College for Women Chandni Chowk, Fine Arts students showcased their creativity through painting competitions depicting symbols of Pakistan-China friendship.

In Muzaffargarh, a large-scale painting competition was organised at Government Graduate College Muzaffargarh, with participation from institutions across Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Alipur and Rangpur, where students secured top positions in both stamp and coin categories.

Meanwhile, Government Graduate College for Women Chak Jhumra hosted activities including poster exhibitions, a solidarity walk and quiz preparations to engage students in commemorative efforts.

District-level competitions were also conducted at Government Graduate College Joharabad, with participation from colleges across the district.

A number of other institutions — including GACW Guliana, Govt Ibne Ameer Graduate College Women Jalalpur Jattan, Govt Graduate College Women Saifabad Faisalabad, Govt Associate College for Women Dhoke Mangtal, Government Graduate College Darya Khan and Government Graduate College for Women Baddomalhi — also organised quizzes, essay writing contests, stamp and coin design competitions, and awareness sessions.

Officials said the celebrations will continue across the province in the coming days, with more activities planned to further engage youth and strengthen the spirit of Pakistan-China friendship, highlighting the enduring nature of ties between the two countries.
