IPOR survey ranks Suthra Punjab as Punjab govt’s top public initiative

ISLAMABAD: The Institute for Public Opinion Research (IPOR) has described the Punjab government’s public-level performance as exceptional, with the Suthra Punjab programme identified as its most notable achievement, according to its latest survey.

The survey found that Suthra Punjab received the highest rating among government initiatives, securing 33 per cent. The programme has been widely viewed by the public as a prominent example of effective service delivery.

IPOR said sanitation services in the province have improved significantly under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The survey report stated that the public sees the Suthra Punjab programme as the leading achievement of the provincial government in this regard.

The implementation of directives issued by the chief minister has led to a noticeable improvement in the performance of local government institutions. This change has contributed to better delivery of services at the public level.

Survey highlights sanitation, local government performance

According to the survey, sanitation emerged as the area in which the government’s work was most clearly recognised by respondents. The report linked this assessment to the execution of the Suthra Punjab programme and the resulting improvement in cleanliness-related services.

IPOR further noted that the provincial administration’s overall performance had been viewed positively at the public level. In addition to sanitation and local government, the survey recorded positive progress in the health and education sectors.

This suggests that, alongside sanitation, other core public service sectors have also registered gains in the survey’s findings.

Health and education also show progress

Beyond the top-ranked sanitation initiative, the survey pointed to improvements in health and education. IPOR said these sectors had also shown positive movement, indicating broader public approval of the provincial government’s service delivery efforts.

The findings, as presented in the survey, place Suthra Punjab at the forefront of public perception of the Punjab government’s achievements. The report specifically highlighted the programme’s 33 per cent ranking and described it as the most significant accomplishment identified by respondents.

According to IPOR, the survey reflects a strong public response to the provincial government’s performance, particularly in areas directly linked to municipal services and governance. The implementation of official directives had strengthened institutional performance, while sanitation, health and education were among the sectors where improvement had been observed.
