KARACHI: Two men were killed and four others were injured after an attack on a house in Gulshan-i-Maymar following a dispute during a wedding ceremony, according to police and hospital officials.
SITE-Superhighway Industrial Area SHO Mohammad Nawaz said the incident stemmed from an exchange of inappropriate words among relatives during a wedding in Dhani Bux Goth late on Saturday night. He said the matter was apparently settled after guests intervened.
However, a few hours later on Sunday, one group allegedly attacked the house of the other side, leaving six people wounded. The injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
Police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed said two of the wounded later died at the hospital. The deceased were identified as Rehan Saman, 50, and Jalal Ashraf, 40.
The four injured were identified as Mashrang Gul, 50, Noman Mashrang, 30, Mohammad Irshad, 24, and Watan Gul, 55.
The SHO said police arrested one of the alleged attackers, Wasif Gul, and recovered two pistols from his possession.
