Attock school heads directed to teach alongside administrative work
School heads in Attock have been directed to teach at least 18 periods a week while continuing their administrative duties. The DEO has asked schools to include the periods in timetables and submit a compliance report within one week.

Attock: Heads of primary, middle, high and higher secondary schools in Attock have been instructed to perform teaching duties in addition to their administrative responsibilities under fresh orders issued by the district education authorities.
According to an official notification issued by the Attock District Education Officer (DEO), the directive applies to headmasters, headmistresses and principals. Under the new arrangement, school heads will now be required to take an active role in classroom teaching while continuing to oversee school administration.
The notification makes it compulsory for each head teacher to teach at least 18 periods every week. The revised schedule requires them to conduct three periods daily alongside their routine administrative work.
The order further states that these teaching periods must be formally included in the school timetable. In addition, the authorities have sought a compliance report within one week.
The move means that school heads across government primary, middle, high and higher secondary institutions in the district will now be expected to divide their time between management duties and direct classroom instruction.
The official notification, as reported, sets out a clear weekly teaching requirement while also making it part of the regular timetable structure of schools. The instruction covers all relevant heads of institutions named in the order and requires implementation within the timeframe given by the district education office.
No other details were included in the notification cited in the report beyond the requirement that school heads undertake classroom teaching, complete 18 periods per week, teach three periods a day, and submit compliance details within a week.
