Two held after honey-trap gang case registered in Sahiwal

SAHIWAL: Police have arrested two suspects after registering a case against an alleged honey-trap gang accused of extorting Rs2.5 million from a commission agent on the outskirts of Chak 66/GD, according to police.

The case was lodged by Bahadur Shah Police Station after a delay of one year. The first information report was registered on the orders of senior police authorities after the complainant approached the inspector general of police.

Zahoor Ali and Nadeem, who belong to the same village, met at a petrol pump in Adda Botti Pal. During their conversation, Nadeem allegedly told Zahoor Ali that he could arrange his marriage.

Police said Nadeem later called Zahoor Ali on the pretext of showing him a marriage proposal and took him to a house, where he introduced him to a girl and her brother. The girl allegedly said she wanted to speak to him alone.

When the two went into a room, the girl began taking off her clothes, and Zahoor Ali objected. At that point, police said, Nadeem, Muhammad Yar and Asar Abbas alias Nanhey Shah recorded a nude video of the girl and accused Zahoor Ali of adultery.

The suspects took Rs100,000 in cash from Zahoor Ali’s pocket and then demanded another Rs2.4 million. They allegedly threatened that if he did not pay, they would kidnap him and release him only after receiving ransom.

Police said Zahoor Ali paid Rs2.4m in installments on different occasions, with the final payment made on April 29, 2025.

Land document also allegedly obtained under pressure

During the same period, the suspects allegedly took Zahoor Ali to the district courts, where a partnership deed relating to his ancestral agricultural land was prepared by a stamp vendor and he was forced to sign it.

Zahoor Ali initially went to the police to get a case registered, but Bahadur Shah Police Station refused to lodge it. He then submitted an application to the IGP.

Following the inspector general’s directions, the Saddar Circle ASP ordered the registration of the case. After that, Bahadur Shah police registered a case against six suspects: Nadeem, his wife Sameena, Muhammad Yar, Asar Abbas, and two unidentified persons.

Police have so far arrested two of the suspects.
