Speeding car hits motorcycle, kills youth

LAHORE: A young man was killed and another was seriously injured after a speeding car struck their motorcycle near Shaukat Khanum Hospital, according to officials.

The victims were identified as Nauman Mumtaz and Hassan Ali. Officials said the two men were travelling on a motorcycle when a fast-moving car hit them, leaving both of them critically injured at the scene.

Rescue teams reached the area after the accident and shifted the injured men to a hospital for treatment. Officials said Nauman Mumtaz later died of his injuries.

Hassan Ali remained under treatment, according to the officials. The driver of the car fled the scene after the collision, officials said.

Officials said the impact of the crash left both motorcycle riders in critical condition before they were moved to hospital by rescue personnel.

The case adds to concerns over road accidents involving high-speed vehicles in the city, with the latest incident resulting in one death and one serious injury.
