China endorses Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for regional peace
China has backed Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to promote regional peace, according to the Foreign Office. Wang Yi and Ishaq Dar discussed US-Iran talks, while Beijing also praised Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue.

ISLAMABAD: China has expressed support for Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region, according to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi spoke by telephone with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday and congratulated Pakistan on what it described as its dedicated efforts to advance regional peace and stability.
During the conversation, the two sides reviewed the recently concluded negotiations between the United States and Iran. The Foreign Office said Wang reaffirmed China’s continued backing for Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic role.
Dar, according to the ministry, reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to dialogue and diplomacy as the preferred way to help restore peace in the region. The two leaders also discussed the Pakistan-China five-point peace initiative, with both sides stressing that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only workable path toward a peaceful settlement of issues.
Meeting with Chinese envoy
Earlier, Dar also met Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong, the Foreign Ministry said in a post on X.
The ministry stated that discussions focused on recent developments after the Islamabad talks. It said Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued resolve to support dialogue and diplomacy, while Ambassador Jiang praised Pakistan’s role in helping facilitate direct talks between the United States and Iran. the ministry said, adding that Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued resolve to support dialogue and diplomacy.
The Foreign Office said both sides also reaffirmed the strength of the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
Foreign ministry meeting
Separately, Dar chaired a meeting attended by Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch and other Foreign Office officials to acknowledge their work, commitment and professionalism during the Islamabad talks.
According to an official statement, Dar appreciated their contribution in facilitating dialogue between Iran and the United States. The ministry described the talks as an important step toward constructive engagement and the promotion of peace and stability.
The developments come as Pakistan highlights its support for diplomatic engagement in regional and international matters, with the Foreign Office underscoring the role of dialogue in addressing tensions and encouraging peaceful outcomes.
The ministry’s statements on Dar’s contacts with Wang Yi, Ambassador Jiang and Foreign Office officials all emphasized the same message: that Pakistan remains committed to supporting negotiations and diplomacy, and that China continues to back that approach.
