FAISALABAD: Batala Colony police have registered a case of kidnapping for ransom against a former station house officer and three other suspects after a young man was allegedly found in a private torture cell in Bawa Wala, according to police.

Police said two of the suspects were arrested from the location.

The case was lodged on the complaint of Aabid Naseem, a resident of Chak No. 224-RB, who told police that his brother, Ijaz Ahmed, had been working at the scrap shop of Mukhtar Ahmed when he was allegedly abducted.

According to the complaint, former sub-inspector Mohsin Kamoka, along with his private aides Noor Akbar, Tanveer, Shahzad and others, forcibly took Ijaz Ahmed away in a private vehicle.

The complainant stated that his brother was then taken to a private torture cell on Jhang Road, where he was subjected to torture and the suspects demanded Rs200,000 for his release.

He further told police that the accused repeatedly forced the victim to speak on the phone while he was being tortured.

According to the complaint, the family arranged the demanded amount and paid Rs200,000 at the Jhang Road truck stand. After receiving the money, the accused released the victim.

Case registered under Section 365-A
