FDA tears down illegal housing project on Narwala Road

FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Development Authority has stepped up its campaign against illegal housing colonies by demolishing an unauthorized scheme and sealing its office on Narwala Road.

According to an FDA spokesperson, the operation was carried out on Friday by the enforcement team under the supervision of Director Town Planning Asma Mohsin and Deputy Director Town Planning Faran Siddiqui.

During inspections of different housing schemes, officials found that a project called Grand City was being developed in Chak No. 59-JB on Narwala Road without meeting the required legal formalities.

The enforcement team responded by demolishing the under-construction structures, sealing the scheme’s office, and confiscating office equipment.

The spokesperson said the developer has been instructed to fulfill all legal and departmental requirements necessary for establishing a housing scheme. He warned that if violations continue, criminal proceedings may also be launched against those responsible.

The authority also advised the public to stay cautious and avoid investing in illegal housing projects. Citizens were urged to verify the legal status of any scheme before buying plots or making investments, and to contact the FDA’s Town Planning Department for verification and guidance.
