Chairing a special video-link meeting, the chief minister instructed the Local Government Department to submit regular, detailed updates, while also ordering weekly reporting on the pace of Model Village projects to ensure timely completion, said a statement issued from the Chief Minister Office (CMO).

Officials briefed the meeting that development schemes are currently underway in 51 cities under the Local Government and Community Development Department. To strengthen municipal services, the government has planned the provision of key machinery, including desilting machines, sectional machines, 45 jetting machines, and 100 dewatering sets.

Emphasising sanitation, the chief minister directed that waste containers and garbage drums must be kept clean on a permanent basis.

In a significant step, it was announced that Punjab’s first HDPE pipeline lining plant will be installed, with work set to begin on April 20, while a similar facility will also be established in South Punjab.

During the meeting, the chief minister conducted a visual review of development schemes in each tehsil through a project gallery, alongside a live dashboard presenting comprehensive financial and physical progress updates.

The Punjab chief minister observed that more projects have been completed in the past two years than in the preceding five years, adding that, following the early completion of WASA schemes, the government would now shift full focus towards urban beautification initiatives.
