Rawalpindi parks and green belts prepared for spring bloom

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Horticulture Agency has stepped up efforts to improve the appearance of the city’s main parks and green belts ahead of the spring season, with work carried out at major public spaces and along key roads.

According to the agency, beautification measures have been completed at three major recreational parks in the city: Allama Iqbal Park, Rawal Park and Dhok Munshi Park. In addition to these sites, green belts in different parts of Rawalpindi have also been decorated with seasonal flowers and ornamental plants as part of the spring preparations.

The agency said green belts located along Chandni Chowk, Rawal Road and Rawal Chowk have been enhanced with colourful flowers and decorative plantation. These arrangements were made as part of a broader campaign to improve the city’s visual appeal during the spring season.

Officials said the work was carried out on the instructions of Managing Director Ahmed Hassan Ranjha. Acting on his directives, teams of the horticulture agency remained engaged around the clock to give important roads and public spaces a more attractive look.

The agency said the initiative was aimed not only at improving the appearance of the city but also at contributing to a better environment. Ensuring a clean, green and pleasant atmosphere for residents during spring remains its foremost priority.

Plantation and flower-growing activities are continuing in different parts of the city, including along roads, inside parks and across green belts, the agency said. The ongoing work forms part of seasonal arrangements undertaken to refresh public spaces and maintain landscaped areas during the spring months.

Work focused on parks and major road corridors

The spring-related beautification campaign has focused on some of Rawalpindi’s busiest and most visible locations. By concentrating on major parks and road medians, the agency has sought to improve the overall outlook of the city at the start of the season.

The agency said its teams worked continuously to transform important stretches into visually appealing landscapes. The effort covered both recreational areas used by families and commuters’ routes through the city, reflecting a wider push to maintain greenery and floral displays in public spaces.

With plantation work still under way, the horticulture agency said the seasonal drive remains active across Rawalpindi. The agency reiterated that maintaining cleanliness, greenery and a pleasant environment is central to its spring operations.
