ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has voiced concern over reported violations of the recently agreed ceasefire in the Middle East, urging all sides to show restraint and honour the commitments made under the peace arrangement.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the prime minister warned that breaches reported at multiple locations could weaken an already fragile peace process and disrupt ongoing diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict through dialogue.
He said the two-week ceasefire represented a crucial window for diplomacy to take priority over confrontation and called on all parties to fully comply with the agreed terms.
“I earnestly and sincerely urge all parties to exercise restraint and honour the ceasefire for the agreed two weeks so that diplomacy can lead the way towards a peaceful settlement,” the prime minister said.
Pakistan has continued to support diplomatic engagement aimed at lowering tensions in the region, with officials maintaining that lasting calm on the ground is vital for meaningful dialogue and long-term stability.
