Pakistan’s military leadership has condemned attacks on Saudi sites, calling them an unnecessary escalation. At the 274th Corps Commanders’ Conference, the forum warned such actions could undermine peace and mediation efforts in the Middle East.

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s military leadership on Monday strongly condemned attacks on sites in Saudi Arabia, describing them as a dangerous escalation that could damage ongoing efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the Middle East.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Chief of Defence Staff and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir chaired the 274th Corps Commanders’ Conference at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
The forum reviewed the prevailing regional and internal security situation and discussed developments linked to the wider Middle East, the military’s media wing said.
The participants denounced the attacks on Saudi facilities and termed them an unnecessary escalation. The military leadership warned that such aggressions could undermine the peaceful environment needed for dialogue and mediation efforts in the region.
According to ISPR, the forum said these actions risk spoiling ongoing attempts to promote peace and stability in the Middle East. The military leadership stressed that any move that heightens tensions could adversely affect efforts under way to create space for negotiations.
The conference also reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for peace, stability and dialogue in the region, the statement said. The army’s top brass underscored the importance of restraint and the need to avoid steps that could further inflame an already sensitive situation.
Security review at GHQ
ISPR said the meeting was attended by senior army commanders and focused on professional matters as well as the broader security environment. The forum carried out a detailed review of the country’s security landscape and discussed matters related to operational preparedness.
The military leadership also expressed resolve to continue efforts for national security and stability, according to the official statement.
In its account of the meeting, ISPR said the commanders viewed the attacks on Saudi sites as harmful to efforts intended to maintain a conducive atmosphere for diplomacy. The forum maintained that preserving such an environment was essential for peaceful engagement and conflict de-escalation.
The development comes amid heightened regional tensions, with the military leadership linking the attacks to possible setbacks for mediation and dialogue efforts. The conference reiterated that peace initiatives required restraint from all sides and warned against actions that could derail them.
Field Marshal Asim Munir presided over the conference at GHQ, where the top military leadership reviewed the situation and issued its condemnation through the ISPR statement.
