Chinese envoy, Fazl discuss regional security and Iran conflict
Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong met JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Islamabad to discuss regional security and the conflict involving Iran. Both sides stressed peace, backed peaceful conflict resolution and warned of wider economic fallout if a ceasefire is delayed.

ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong met JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman at the latter’s residence on Thursday, where the two sides discussed the regional security situation.
During the meeting, Maulana Fazlur Rehman hosted a lunch in honour of the visiting Chinese delegation. The discussion covered recent developments in the region, with particular focus on the conflict involving Iran.
According to the details reported, both sides exchanged views on the US-Israeli war against Iran and described it as a violation of international law as well as Tehran’s sovereignty. The meeting reflected shared concern over the implications of the conflict for the wider region.
The talks also underscored common ground between JUI-F and China on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and on the broader objective of regional peace. It was noted during the discussion that this convergence of views could prove beneficial for the region.
Both sides emphasised the importance of maintaining peace and stability and agreed on the need to encourage peaceful means for resolving disputes and conflicts. The meeting highlighted a preference for diplomacy and de-escalation amid growing regional tensions.
