Punjab govt jet goes off radar after Vienna trip raises questions
The Punjab government-owned Gulfstream G500 is now off public flight tracking systems after a trip to Vienna, raising concerns about transparency and accountability in state resource usage.

A government-owned Gulfstream G500 used by authorities in Punjab is no longer visible on public flight tracking platforms, prompting fresh scrutiny over its movements and transparency.
The aircraft, which was previously trackable through widely used flight monitoring services, has now been marked “private,” effectively removing access to details such as its routes, duration of flights, and return schedules.
The development comes shortly after the jet completed a trip to Vienna. Following its return, the aircraft remained grounded in Lahore for approximately a week before its tracking data was restricted from public view.
Flight tracking platforms typically allow aircraft owners or operators to request privacy blocks, limiting public access to flight data. While such measures are not uncommon for private or sensitive operations, the move has drawn attention due to the aircraft’s government ownership.
With the jet now untraceable through public systems, there is no longer visibility into where it travels, how long it remains at destinations, or when it returns, raising broader questions about accountability and the use of state resources.
