LAHORE: Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah has said his social media account was hacked after a controversial post about Maryam Nawaz went viral during the opening match of the Pakistan Super League 2026.
“This account of Naseem was recently hacked but now recovered successfully,” he said, distancing himself from the post that quickly gained traction online.
The incident unfolded during the PSL opener at Gaddafi Stadium, where Maryam Nawaz attended as the guest of honour for the match between Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kingsmen. Shortly after her appearance, a post from Naseem’s X account began circulating widely.
The now-deleted message, shared as a quote on a repost of the CM's post, read: “Why is she being treated like the queen at Lords?”

Within minutes, screenshots of the post spread across social media, sparking debate and drawing mixed reactions from fans and observers. While some questioned the tone of the remark, others focused on how quickly the situation escalated—and then just as quickly, was explained away.
Once Naseem issued his clarification, the internet responded in its own way. Many users took a sarcastic tone, with one writing, “Fastest recovery ever,” while another joked, “When you suddenly realize that you have a career as well.”
At the same time, some fans showed support, brushing off the controversy with messages such as, “Don’t worry bro! We get it!” and “Such quick service.”
