LAHORE: Fast bowler Naseem Shah has been ruled out of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for an indefinite period following an injury sustained during Rawalpindi’s match against Karachi Kings, the franchise confirmed.
Team officials said the injury will keep the pacer out of action for an unspecified duration, with the medical staff closely monitoring his rehabilitation. Rawalpindi management expressed hope that Naseem could return in the later stages of the tournament once he regains full fitness and receives medical clearance.
The setback comes days after Naseem faced disciplinary action over a social media post targeting Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had issued a show-cause notice and imposed a fine of Rs20 million. Naseem later apologized publicly, stating the post did not reflect his own views and had been shared by a member of his management team.
Despite the controversy, Rawalpindi franchise officials affirmed their support for Naseem during his recovery.
