What was supposed to be a joyful wedding in Rawalpindi quickly spiraled into chaos when the bride allegedly pulled out a gun and started firing into the air—right in the middle of celebrations.
The incident, reported from the Mandrah area, left onlookers stunned as videos and word of the shocking moment spread. According to police, officers rushed to the scene after receiving reports of aerial firing on a public road, only to find a bride and groom allegedly involved in the act.
As authorities moved in, the couple tried to escape. After a brief chase, the bride, identified as Shanza Shabbir, was caught and arrested, while the groom, Shehryar Ali, managed to flee and is still on the run.
Police recovered a 30-bore pistol from the bride, along with live rounds and spent bullet casings from the scene. During questioning, she reportedly claimed the weapon belonged to her husband. Neither suspect could provide a valid license.
A case has been registered, and authorities say efforts are underway to track down the groom.
The bizarre incident has once again highlighted the dangers of celebratory gunfire—turning what should have been a wedding to remember into one for all the wrong reasons.
