KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan suffered a sharp decline on Monday, marking one of the steepest drops in recent history.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold per tola fell by Rs43,600, settling at Rs447,762. Similarly, the rate for 10 grams of gold dropped by Rs37,380, closing at Rs338,883.
The decline also mirrored trends in the international market, where gold lost $436 per ounce, bringing the global price down to $4,250 per ounce.
Experts note that this is the largest single-day fall in gold prices, with the per tola rate plunging by over Rs125,000 from its all-time high, triggering concerns among investors and jewelers alike.
