The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has finally dropped, marking the return of Tom Holland to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after a long gap since Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Peter Parker’s new life takes a darker turn
The trailer shows Peter Parker operating alone in a world that no longer remembers him, following the events of the previous film.
This time, the story leans into transformation, with scenes hinting at a mysterious mutation as Peter appears to undergo physical changes, including a darker, more unsettling version of his powers.
Familiar MCU faces return
The film brings back key Marvel characters, including Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, also known as Hulk, who appears to play a crucial role in helping Peter understand what’s happening to him.
Jon Bernthal also joins the story as the Punisher, marking his first appearance in a Marvel Studios film.
Meanwhile, Michael Mando returns as Scorpion, this time fully suited up, setting up a major threat for Spider-Man.
New direction for the franchise
The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, making this the first Spider-Man film in the MCU not helmed by Jon Watts.
Writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers return to continue Peter Parker’s evolving story.
Release date confirmed
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit cinemas on July 31, as part of Marvel’s Phase 6 lineup, leading into major crossover films like Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
