Former beauty queen and long-time supporter Carrie Prejean has publicly broken ranks with Donald Trump, declaring the “MAGA” movement “dead” during a televised interview, as divisions deepen within his political base over the ongoing Iran conflict.
Speaking on Piers Morgan Uncensored hosted by Piers Morgan, Prejean said she no longer recognised the president she had supported for nearly two decades. She described the United States as being under foreign influence and claimed the administration’s direction had diverged from its original “America First” stance.
She further stated that the political movement associated with Trump had effectively collapsed, saying Americans were “furious” and distancing herself from the president despite previously describing him as a close ally.
The remarks come amid growing fractures within Trump’s support base following U.S. involvement in military action against Iran, which has triggered backlash from segments of conservative media and political figures.
According to recent developments, disagreements have emerged between anti-interventionist voices and more hawkish Republicans, with prominent commentators and politicians openly criticising or defending the administration’s approach.
The fallout has extended beyond media rhetoric. Reports indicate internal unease within parts of the administration, while at least one adviser has resigned in protest over the strikes, reflecting broader tensions surrounding the policy direction.
Prejean’s comments add to a series of public disagreements among Trump allies, highlighting a widening divide over foreign policy and the future direction of the political coalition that helped bring him to power.
