ISLAMABAD: Security forces conducted intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the elimination of 11 militants, according to an official statement issued on Friday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that the operations took place in Dera Ismail Khan and North Waziristan districts. During these actions, 11 terrorists were killed in separate encounters with security personnel.

The ISPR further reported that weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the possession of the slain militants. According to the statement, the neutralised individuals had been actively involved in terrorist activities targeting security forces and civilians in the region.

The ISPR reiterated the commitment of Pakistan’s security forces to eradicating the threat of terrorism from the country. The statement read: “Sanitisation operations are being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area. Security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.”

These operations are part of ongoing efforts by security forces to maintain peace and stability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which has witnessed an uptick in militant activity in recent years.

No further details regarding the identities of the militants or any casualties among security personnel were provided in the official statement.
