Sarfaraz Ahmed announces retirement from international cricket

ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan Test captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has officially announced his retirement from international cricket, according to an announcement made on Tuesday.

Sarfaraz, who has represented Pakistan in all three formats, made the decision public ahead of Pakistan's first Test match against Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The wicketkeeper-batsman has been a significant figure in Pakistan cricket, notably leading the national team to victory in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.

During his career, Sarfaraz played a pivotal role both as a player and captain. He captained Pakistan in 13 Tests, 50 One Day Internationals (ODIs), and 37 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
