OGRA refutes rumours of LPG price increase, urges public to report overcharging

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has dismissed recent rumours regarding an increase in the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), clarifying that no such hike has been approved.

In an official statement, OGRA emphasized that reports circulating about a rise in LPG prices are unfounded. The authority stated that the current official prices remain unchanged and any claims to the contrary should be disregarded.

OGRA further urged consumers to remain vigilant and report any incidents of overcharging or price manipulation by LPG distributors or retailers. The authority assured the public that such complaints would be addressed promptly, stating, "Instances of overcharging or price manipulation should be reported for immediate action."

The regulatory body reiterated its commitment to ensuring fair pricing and protecting consumer interests. OGRA called on the public to cooperate by providing information about any violations so that appropriate measures can be taken against those involved in unfair practices.

OGRA regularly announces official LPG prices and monitors the market to prevent unauthorized price increases. The authority advised consumers to refer to its official notifications for accurate information regarding LPG rates.
