ISLAMABAD: As Eid approaches, markets across the country are witnessing a significant increase in female shoppers, with women and children crowding shopping centers and bazaars to prepare for the upcoming festivities.
According to a report, shopping activity has intensified in the days leading up to Eid, with women making up the majority of customers in markets. Popular shopping destinations are experiencing heavy footfall, particularly in the evenings, as families search for clothes, shoes, bangles, and other accessories for Eid celebrations.
Shopkeepers have reported brisk business, noting that the demand for traditional attire and festive items has surged. Many retailers have introduced special discounts and offers to attract more customers during this peak shopping season. Despite concerns over inflation and rising prices, shoppers continue to flock to markets, determined to celebrate Eid with new purchases.
In addition to clothing and accessories, stalls selling mehndi (henna) and bangles are drawing large crowds, especially among young girls. The festive atmosphere in the markets is further enhanced by the presence of food vendors and decorative lighting, contributing to the overall excitement of Eid preparations.
Traffic congestion has also increased around major commercial areas, as families travel to popular shopping spots. Authorities have deployed additional personnel to manage the crowds and ensure smooth traffic flow during the busy shopping period.
With only a few days left until Eid, the shopping frenzy is expected to continue, as women and families make final preparations for the holiday.
