CTD to conduct special training for police deployed at Imambargahs and mosques in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has announced a two-day training programme for police officials assigned to security duties at Imambargahs, category-A mosques, and joint check posts (JCPs) across Rawalpindi district.

The CTD has notified the SP Headquarters, DSP Security, all Station House Officers (SHOs), the Dolphin Force, and other relevant officials regarding the upcoming training session. The event will be held at the Police Lines Headquarters Rawalpindi on Monday and Tuesday.

Police officers have been instructed to ensure that all personnel currently deployed for security at Imambargahs, category-A mosques, police pickets, and JCPs attend the two-day CTD training session. The initiative aims to enhance the preparedness and effectiveness of police officials responsible for safeguarding sensitive religious sites and key locations in the district.

As part of the broader security measures, a flag march was conducted late at night throughout Rawalpindi to reinforce the commitment to maintaining robust security arrangements. The flag march was led by SSP Operations Malik Tariq Mehboob and included divisional SPs, SDPOs, SHOs, Dolphin squads, and Elite commandos. The procession commenced from the Police Lines Headquarters and traversed various areas of the city, demonstrating the police’s readiness and presence.

The CTD’s training and the recent flag march are part of ongoing efforts to ensure foolproof security, particularly at places of worship and other sensitive sites. These measures come amid heightened security concerns and reflect the authorities’ focus on equipping police personnel with the necessary skills and knowledge to respond effectively to potential threats.
