Child killed, four injured as mortar shell from Afghanistan hits North Waziristan village
A mortar shell allegedly fired from Afghanistan struck a North Waziristan village, killing a child and injuring four others, police said.

MIRANSHAH: A child lost his life and four others were injured on Sunday evening when a mortar shell, reportedly fired from the Afghan side of the border, struck a residential area in North Waziristan, police said.
According to police sources, the incident took place at approximately 7:30pm during an exchange of heavy gunfire between both sides of the border in the Ghulam Khan area. During the cross-border firing, a mortar shell landed in the Golakhel village, exploding in a residential locality.
Police sources stated that the explosion resulted in the immediate death of a minor, while four other individuals sustained injuries. Local residents acted swiftly, transporting the injured to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Miranshah for medical treatment.
Hospital sources reported that some of the wounded were in critical condition. Medical staff and doctors were engaged in providing emergency care to the victims following the incident.
