Roads clogged this Ramazan

The Kech district administration and the traffic police department must immediately address the increasingly chaotic traffic conditions in Turbat city during this holy month of Ramazan. While this month should be defined by reflection and patience, our streets currently reflect total disorder and a complete lack of civic management.

The ‘Iftar rush’ has turned the city’s main arteries into a standstill, particularly in the final ninety minutes before Maghrib. Much of this congestion stems from the lack of designated parking facilities. The surge in illegal rickshaws and a blatant disregard for signal compliance at major intersections have also made daily commuting a nightmare. Moreover, ambulances are regularly trapped in this fiasco, posing an unacceptable threat to public life.

Immediate action is required from the local authorities, including the deployment of additional traffic wardens alongside strict penalties for breaking road safety rules. It is time to prioritise urban planning and active traffic monitoring so the residents of Turbat can observe their religious duties without the daily burden of gridlock.
