Sindh chief minister announces imminent start of Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway work
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah announced that work on the remaining sections of the Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway will begin soon, following federal attention to the project.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has stated that construction on the remaining two sections of the Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway is set to commence soon. The announcement was made during his visit to the Daraza Sharif shrine near Ranipur in Khairpur district, where he was attending the inauguration of the 205th Urs of the revered Sufi Saint Sachal Sarmast.
Speaking to media personnel on Thursday, the chief minister said that the federal government, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has responded to the Sindh government's persistent requests regarding the motorway project. He indicated that the prime minister's recent attention to the matter would pave the way for the start of construction work on the remaining sections.
During the event, Chief Minister Shah was accompanied by the shrine’s third custodian, Khawaja Abdul Haq Farooqui, as they laid a chadar on the grave of Sachal Sarmast to formally commence the Urs celebrations. Several provincial ministers and local officials, including Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Syed Riaz Hussain Shah Shirazi, Nawab Khan Wassan, MPA Hallar Khan Wassan, Agha Shahbaz Khan Durrani, and Khawaja Nazarul Haq Farooqui, were also present at the ceremony.
The chief minister did not specify an exact date for the start of construction but emphasized that the project would begin soon, following the federal government's renewed focus on the issue. The Sindh government has been advocating for the completion of the Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway, highlighting its importance for the region.
The event at Daraza Sharif marked the formal opening of the 205th Urs of Sachal Sarmast, with officials and devotees gathering to pay their respects and participate in the celebrations.
