PCB shifts National T20 Cup venue back to Peshawar after multiple changes

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has once again altered the venue for the upcoming National T20 Cup, moving the tournament back to Peshawar after previously shifting it to Multan. This marks the third venue change for the 10-team event in recent days, familiar with the matter.

Initially, the National T20 Cup was scheduled to take place in Peshawar at the Imran Khan Stadium, formerly known as Arbab Niaz Stadium. However, the PCB had earlier decided to relocate the tournament to Rawalpindi, prompting four participating teams to travel there as per their travel plans. Upon arrival in Rawalpindi, the teams were informed by the PCB that the event had been moved to Multan, leading to their luggage being transported to Multan late Tuesday night.

Sources indicate that the PCB has now reversed its decision, instructing that the tournament will return to its original venue in Peshawar. As a result, the teams' luggage is being sent back from Multan to Peshawar. The frequent changes have caused logistical challenges for the teams and organizers.

The start date of the tournament has also been affected by these developments. While the event was initially set to begin on March 5, sources report that it will now commence on March 7 due to the logistical issues arising from the repeated venue changes.

The PCB has not publicly provided detailed reasons for the multiple changes in venue. The situation has created confusion among the participating teams, who have had to adjust their travel and accommodation plans several times within a short period.

The National T20 Cup is expected to feature ten teams, with all matches now scheduled to be held at Imran Khan Stadium in Peshawar, according to the latest directive from the PCB.
