PTI Punjab Assigns Protest Duties Outside Supreme Court and Adiala Jail

The Punjab chapter of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has directed its party formations across the province to organise sit-ins outside the Supreme Court and Adiala Jail. The move aims to press for an early hearing of cases filed against the party's founder, Imran Khan, as well as to highlight concerns regarding the lack of proper medical treatment for him.

Protest Schedule Announced

PTI Punjab chief organiser Aliya Hamza has announced a detailed schedule for these protests. She has instructed Members of the National Assembly (MNAs), Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs), ticket-holders, office-bearers, and all party wings and workers in the respective divisions to participate in peaceful sit-ins and protests on their assigned dates.

According to the announced schedule, the South Punjab party formation has been tasked to gather at Adiala Jail for a protest on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Rawalpindi division party formation was initially assigned to stage a sit-in in front of the Supreme Court on Monday. However, this particular protest was later postponed due to the prevailing situation in the red zone following the Iran-Israel conflict, sources said.

Instructions to Party Members

Aliya Hamza has emphasised the importance of peaceful demonstrations and has called on all designated party members and wings to ensure their presence at the specified locations. The protests are scheduled to take place during office hours on the given dates.

"All party wings and workers have been asked to stage sit-ins and peaceful protests on the dates assigned to them," sources quoted the PTI Punjab chief organiser as saying.

The party's leadership has reiterated that the primary objectives of these protests are to demand an expedited hearing of the cases against Imran Khan and to address the issue of his medical treatment.

Postponement Due to Regional Situation

The sit-in planned by the Rawalpindi division in front of the Supreme Court was postponed in light of the current situation in the red zone, which sources attribute to developments following the Iran-Israel war. No new date for this protest has been announced yet, according to available reports.

Further updates regarding the protest schedule and participation are expected as the situation evolves.
