RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Police have registered an uncommon kidnapping case after the father of a missing boy alleged that supernatural beings were behind his son’s disappearance.
The incident was reported in the jurisdiction of Taxila Police Station, where authorities formally recorded an abduction case based on the family’s complaint. According to reports, the police included the allegation of jinns in the first information report as stated by the complainant.
The missing child, identified as 11-year-old Suraqa Al Saif, left his home on January 21 and failed to return. After several days passed without any trace of the boy, his father approached the police and filed a complaint on January 25.
In the FIR, the father claimed that his son had gone outside the house and was taken away by jinns. He told police that similar incidents had allegedly occurred in the past, saying that supernatural beings had taken his son before but he had always returned home after some time.
On this occasion, however, the child remained missing for days, prompting the family to seek police intervention. The father maintained that his son had been kidnapped and had not returned.
The case has attracted attention due to the unusual nature of the claims recorded in the police report. A similar incident was previously reported in Lahore, where a woman was declared missing and her mother registered a kidnapping case while blaming jinns for her disappearance.
